Peg,
I had a mom that had a recurring bleb with blocked ducts and it took over 2
mos to resolve fully (maybe more, can't quite recall exactly). She had a PT
(physical therapist) use ultrasound treatments (PT had done before on breast)
via suggestion on Jack's handout and I had gotten info from some of our (LN)
Aussie colleagues. This, repeat abrasion of bleb with washcloth (daily),
Jack's APNO ointment (a big factor) and thorough emptying by breastfeeding
and reducing her oversupply all factored in her treatment. She went on to
nurse well beyond a yr, maybe 2 or so actually, and even saw breast surgeon
and dermatologist during the lengthy course of this. Had similiar problems
(no bleb) with other 2 children and never once considered weaning-a real
trooper and joy to work with, I must add.
