At this address you can read MIDIRS' informed choice leaflets for health
professionals and for women, on 10 topics including infant feeding. They
won an award for clarity of language for the entire series; I really love
them. There is more information there as well about the informed choice
initiative which MIDIRS instigated some years ago in the UK.

The one on breast or bottle feeding is number seven in the series. Totally
Wiessingeresque language. Here is how the version for health professionals
begins:
"It is universally agreed that breast milk is the optimal food for babies.
Many people believe, however, that bottle feeding is a safe alternative. A
large, and growing, body of research evidence now exists which shows this is
not the case.
Babies who do not receive breast milk are at risk of serious health
consequences. The health of the mother may also be compromised if she does
not breastfeed her baby."
