Hi All,
I am having a difficult time with Internet Explorer - keeps crashing on me
and locking up my hard drive...So, as a result I am unable to get on the
internet to do proper research like I would like to.

My question: Have a mom fighting yeast that responds marginally to gentian
violet. Baby has some major tight jaw issues so we know that that is part
of the sore nipple pain problem - but nips are bright pink, itchy and
burny...Doc did a culture on the nipple tissue that came back as 'normal
skin cells' with apparently no yeast present. Put her on penicillan for
possible infection even tho there was no sign of one...sigh. Per mom Doc
(and docs entire practice) flat out refuses to prescribe Diflucan as it is
dangerous and can kill her baby or at the very least cause serious liver
damage. I gave mom the info to counter that - they refuse to acknowledge it
saying they never have and never will prescribe diflucan for nursing
mothers. I know - I know - she will be looking for a new practice on
Monday. Anyway...they did prescribe topical Terazole 3. I have info from
Hale on its use vaginally - but not topically. I advised to wait until I
could make sure it was a-ok for topical use as well as OK for baby to nurse
on breast with this cream on it.

We have tried looking into other possible dermatitis type irritants with not
much luck...

So, is this stuff OK to use topically or should she stick to miconazole
cream (which did make her nipples feel better after a couple
applications...)?

Thank you so much!

Jaye
wanting to smack some people today ...more than one person today I have
wanted to send to the "Stupid Colony" for blatant refusal to educate
themselves to better serve their patients - who are paying them!!!...grrrr
