Subject: calming the hungry baby


Dear Debbie,

By all means, of course feed the baby first.  That usually soothes the
baby and that's the end of the story.  However, if the baby is still
upset the next step is to try the S's.  Then, if they fail (and you're
sure the parents are doing them correctly) it's time to look for other
causes of crying.
