According to author Ariel Gore's book, The Hip Mama Survival Guide, the piercing will not affect the nursing, and the only concern is removal of the jewelry prior to nursing.  Her authority comes from dealing with multiple women with multiple piercing that breastfeed.

I just wrote a paper on this for my CAPPA CLE certification, so this is fresh for me.
