One thing I've noticed with babies like this is that occasionally the
mothers are delaying feeding them until they are frantic or crying. I
encourage moms whose babies are having difficulty latching/feeding to try to
start working with them a little early--before they would normally start to
cue hunger (if they are cueing), so that they have a window of quiet alert
time to work with the baby before the baby becomes so frantic and
disorganized. This may or may not apply to your mom.
