Not formally, yet anyway. When talking with peers/nurses, I've been calling
this phenomena "skewed" birth weights, ...when talking with new parents about
assessing if the wt loss is an issue that needs intervention or not, and the
need to look at several parameters, not just wt loss, we may discuss how mom
got X amt of IV fluids in labor and baby's face was so puffy he could not
open his eyes well for about two days, and some of the wt loss we are seeing
may be excess fluid loss.

Would love to see this theory documented in the research.
