I have to say I support Valerie's observations on this. All four of my
children were exclusively breastfed (no formula, no foods, no water, etc.)
for at least six months. Two of them were 10 months old before they were
willing to eat any solid foods, and they were all past a year before they
drank anything besides my milk. I am 5 feet 2 inches tall; their father is 5
feet 6 inches tall. (My own parents are 5 ft. 1 inch and 5 ft. 5 inches.) My
children are Matthew (6 feet), Lisa (5 ft. 3 inches), Dan (5 ft. 10 in.) and
Jeremy (6 ft. 1 in.). The two "late solids" kids were Lisa and Jeremy - the
shortest and the tallest! I always thought it was the breastfeeding that
helped them grow so well!
