I use it all the time when mom tells me baby is too demanding, won't take a
bottle, wants to be held, etc.  How wonderful to have a child who knows what
she wants!
As asked earlier, I attribute most of my breastfeeding knowledge to personal
experience and my own three breastfed children.  I was lucky to have an OB
provider my first pregnancy who thought it important to encourage
breastfeeding, signed me up for breastfeeding class with a LLL leader, and
handed me baby to nurse at about 15 seconds of age.  I had never seen a
breastfed infant before I was pregnant with my first.
I also had the privilege of meeting Dr. Lawrence Gartner in medical school
and doing nursery rounds with him.  Mary Kay Smith, who posts here was the
lactation consultant at the hospital where I did my residency.  So I've had
some decent mentoring, too.
Wonderful to find this list, too, and I hope to continue to learn from you all!
