It has been a long time since I've posted on Lactnet. Usually I can find my answers by searching archives, but this time I haven't come up with much. I am hoping all of you can help me.
Without prejudgicing the sample, I was wondering if anyone has any information about the effect of Depo Provera on milk supply after supply has been established. All the information that I have says it is best to wait a few weeks (3-6) before administering it. The other wisdom is that it might be a good idea to use the progesterone only pill for a month or so to see if it has any effect on supply and then going to the injection if that works well.
The information I am looking for is: Is there an effect on milk supply when the Depo is administered after the first 6 weeks? Of course, documented research would be best, but I would appreciate anectdotal reports as well.
Thanks
