Hi:
I often wish this myself. Is there any way of tagging along with an IBCLC
for a few days? I tried to get a bit of hospital experience before I sat the
exam. The two hospitals in my area denied my request stating confidentiality
reasons. I try to stay current by reading and attending lots of conferences,
but watching another hands on would be great.
I am grateful for the IBCLC's who share there wisdom here and as speakers and
writers. Is there a way to take that a bit further and set up some type of
intern-like program? Are there clinics that will allow this type of
observation? Its almost like the hospital and LC's in my area are reluctant
to take that step. I did have an offer to travel out of state, but have been
unable to arrange for the funds to travel at this time.
I hope I can save up and do this sometime this spring.
Please share your thoughts on this.
