i think mainly it is the mom's primary care doc who should prescribe, in
general. however i have seen the peds do so. they are doctors just the same,
altho they specialize. a family practice doc or midwife could treat as well.
perhaps the mom might consider another doc, however if she is generally
satisfied with the ob, then lucky the peds was agreeable. no easy answers.
the thrush thing is a hard one. many docs uncomfortable with the long
treatment course. also a dermatologist can treat thrush.
