Dear Lactnetters,I am sorry my message was not clear about staff issues and cultural diff. First of all I have been an Ob/Nicu RN for 40 years and an IBCLC for only 8 years. I have worked and set up Lactation centers in 2 hospitals by myself and a third hospital with two other LC'S. The problem is how can I get the staff to promote breastfeeding when they use cultural differences as a way to avoid helping the mothers. They say they will nurse when they go home and bottle feed in the hospital. As for the loud one I have gone through proper channels for handling her but it is always helpful to hear others opinions on this matter, even though I have been out there for some time this was quite new and unexpected. Please share any thoughts, you all are the first thing I look at when I come in to my office. Thanks for being there.
