Catching up on my e-mail and this thread caught my eye. Since I also work
at a local big chain baby store we get a lot of people coming in looking for
the single pack sterile nipples and where are the special nipples for these
(single serve AIM) bottles. Since the hospital has them obviously they are
what you are supposed to use - right. I have to explain to to the customer
(and new employees) that the disposable nipples are only given to the
hospitals and that any standard size nipple and cap will fit. But these
have to be washed before use and should be sterilzed for a small baby. That
the bottles they have are considered the "universal thread" - that the
nipples fit even the baby juice bottles - so any nipple/cap will fit.
People except artificial feeding to be as easy as the hospital has it -
bottles stored where ever is convenient, nipples come sterilzed and packaged
ready for use. No muss, no fuss then they learn how hard it is (and
extremely expensive to go the "easy" way).
