Dear LACTNET,
Two moms (of 2 y.o. girls) have asked me about how much breastmilk
their toddlers are getting. Does anyone know? Any resources for
information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
My questions:
1) How many calories per ounce is in the breastmilk a toddler gets?
The same or different from a baby's breastmilk?
2) How is a toddler's breastmilk intake estimated? Is there an
average amount a toddler gets in 20 seconds (or some short time) of
nursing?
Thanks,
Carla
