At our local ALCA meeting last night the topic of 'over active milk
ejection reflex' was mentioned. Several of us felt that the phraseology
wasn't an accurate description of what we are talking about. To me
'over-active' means being active/activated more often than normal, but what
we are trying to describe is just a forceful milk ejection at the
appropriate time.
Would 'forceful milk ejection reflex' be a better descriptor? Does that
make it sound too aggressive?
This would have to be the largest collection of professionals interested in
lactation issues so if we can collectively decide on what it should be we
should be able to influence the researchers and book publishers.
What's your opinion?
