Good morning all. Reading just a few notes, as I am on vacation, but here I
am reading "The Group," by Mary McCarthy. Since I went to Vassar, I thought
I would re read that book...good summer beach read. However, I get to the
chapter about one of the "group" having a baby and breastfeeding. ARGH. I
do not think we have progressed all that much since that book was written
in the 40s. I will type an excerpt for you today.
Match that with the numerous emails I get from mothers who do not know how
to latch, who go home with their babies not latching, who exclusively pump
milk for want of help, and who are in dire pain with no one paying
attention, and one might think one is back in the 40s.
Kathleen, who can't even read a novel without getting aggravated.
