i am a WIC certifier and see oh so many sad looking babies strapped into
strolers or car seats with a bottle propped up or mom inattentivly holding
the bottle in the baby's mouth. i feel very sad for these babies. they
feel sad too. the saddest thing i see is mom's willfully ignoring early
hunger cues, both BF and bottle feeders - even with gentle discussion of
cues, offering our excellent breastfeeding room, or my office, or "you can
make a bottle right here" all too often i hear "oh she can wait- i only
live 10 minutes away" or "she just needs a pacifier" ahhhhh
back to topic. i have recently seen pictures of sad looking babes with
streesed out looking moms shuving bottles in mouths, i believe from j.
newman. i will look harder
