I enjoyed Jeannette Panchula's post on learning styles. I wanted to add a
little tidbit from our Patient/family Education council. I don't have a
citation for it but here goes ---
We've been writing things here for a sixth grade reading level. (This is NOT
easy!) Now we are hearing that materials written for patients under stress
(read - most everybody) should be written for a _4th grade_ reading level.
So all the crazy hand motions and verbal pictures we're using make a lot of
sense. And no wonder moms can hardly remember the ten things I tell them!
