I'm afraid your brief description of the Australian "settling schools"
sounded rather frightening, reminiscent of a certain fundamental religious
program recently popular in the U.S. that causes failure to thrive and
premature weaning through dictatorial infant feeding practices and other
aggregious parenting errors.  Are these settling schools a modern invention
there?
