Dear Ro,

Any chance you can offer a prenatal bf class and begin to empower the moms?
What about meeting idividually with some of the peds that call you into the
picture and explain what the problems are. (I can't believe they won't even
allow dripping "something" on the breast to encourage/entice latch on!) What
about meeting with the clinical coordinator of MCH and tell her some of the
problems you are encountering on the outside and ask her how you can work
together? What about courting one of the pump company reps and seeing if you
can't get a pump into the hospital on a trial basis - or rental from the
company since then that doesn't have to go into a capital equipment/purchase
budget? What about having the moms that you do work with write letters to
the hospital administration detailing the bf problems they have and relating
it back to what happened in the hospital?

And I'm sure others will have other suggestions.....

Good luck! Keep the faith ---

Jan B.
