Well said Barbara Wilson-Clay and Kathleen Bruce. Supporting our professional
organization is so important. Its in my opinion what helps to give
creditiblity to what we do on a daily basis and keeps us up to date with the
current research. I agree with Barbara its important to see the things that
are out there on the market because if you teach any prenatal classes for
breastfeeding believe me these parents sure know about all the equipment out
there and are only to quick to purchase or use whether they know anything
about it or not. Think as an IBCLC how many times you get questions on " I am
weaning and want your opinion on what the best nipple is for a breastfeeding
baby" or i am returning to work. I don't have enough money to rent or
purchase an electric pump. What can i buy at Walmart that will work? Once
again considering the big picture here and supporting whats well worth it for
all of us in the long run.
