Janet:
While you are in the process of educating staff, put some muscle behind
that education by rewriting your hospital's Policies, Procedures &
Guidelines on infant feeding, pumping, storing & using human milk, etc.
etc...
Get yourself on every Collaborative Practice committee and Process
Improvement committee and your Nursing P&P committee.
Include Standing Orders for when to call you and when the staff, now that
they are educated, should do basic latch & positioning or set up the pump &
teach mom themselves.
Congratulations on having two!! IBCLCs for 2000 deliveries a year. We have
3 IBCLCs for 5500 to 6000 per year.

Get Linda Smith's book on teaching techniques. Dozens of quick & easy fun
things to well-planned serious education to drive home your point.
