According to Susun Weed's "Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year" (summarizing), nourishing herbs are the safest, including red raspberry leaf (as someone said, a wonderful pregnancy herb). Some are tonics and rarely have side effects, but if they are more bitter they are meant to be taken in small amounts (like blessed thistle). She mentions occassional use during pregnancy as a way to harmonize emotions. Fennel is also a safe galactogogue. Also, you could look for info on the Motherlove site--www.motherlove.com. Lactuca virosa is a homeopathic remedy that increases supply and is safe while pregnant. I would think that might be a good choice for her.
