>I am reading "The Group," by Mary McCarthy. Since I went to Vassar, I
thought
I would re read that book...good summer beach read. However, I get to the
chapter about one of the "group" having a baby and breastfeeding. ARGH. I
do not think we have progressed all that much since that book was written
in the 40s. I will type an excerpt for you today.<

Kathleen, I think Jack Newman has the relevant bits (amazing, I agree) on
his quotes selection.

(can't get a working link on Bright Future site)

Kathleen, why don't you return to your beach towel with an ice lolly
instead? (hey -- I have no commercial interest -- make it a pina colada or
whatever) But thanks for reminding all of us that there are great books out
there with breastfeeding stuff. My husband has just finished reading
Natalia Ginsburg 'Caro Michele' (he read in Italian) which apparantly has
lots on bf and poor weight gain in the plot line. NOw, I have to find an
English translation for *my* holiday ;-)
