Patient Care for the Nurse Practitioner, October 2002, an on-line subscription journal has just published a very useful article on "Vaccinating breastfeeding and pregnant women" and a patient guide.
The main gist of the info is that it is perfectly OK to administer ANY vaccine to mom.
"Breastfeeding does not adversely affect immunization and is not a contraindication for any vaccine. Limited data indicate that breast-feeding can enhance the response to certain vaccine antigens. Breastfed infants should be vaccinated according to routine recommended schedules."
