You would have seen it if you had stayed up North, too. This is, IMO, becoming one of the most common problems in the US. Just last week a friend was off to the hospital to see her SIL who was being induced b/c she was supposedly 2 days post-dates (how has this become a reason for induction???) and her last baby was born 4 days post-dates with no induction! I constantly hear monms say they were induced b/c the baby was going to be too big. Says who? So often, these babies are small and/or much earlier than the age/size moms are told. Common sense is just not happening here. We seem to have lost all respect for the process of birth and refuse to see the harm b/c it serves us as a culture (in some unhealthy way) to be ignorant and blind.
