Formula is only the third next best.
WHO states that the sequence of preferred infant feeding is:
1. Breastfeeding at breast
2. Own's mother's milk in another way
3. Human donor milk
4. Formula

Formula should be seen as a prescription drug: no one sonsiders giving it to
healthy people and we all do accept more or less reasonable by-effects only
if we really need the medication. When the first 3 options are not available
one has to turn to the last one. And we will be happy if that is not too
dangerous and does not have too many ill effects.

Warmly greeting,

Gonneke
