Ah Tammy, that's like asking someone to present breastfeeding in a totally
neutral manner. Either yer fer it or agin it. Either you are for scheduled
feeds and the possibility of FTT babies, infant anorexia, infant depression,
slow weight gain, and mothers who are wedded to the clock instead of having
the freedom to do whatever they want whenever they want to -- or you are for
allowing the infant to do what the AAP says, which is, "the best schedule for
a baby is the one the infant designs for himself" (or words to that effect.)
This is a no-win situation.
The article on the www.ezzo.info website by Lisa Marasco that discusses from
an evidence based perspective why scheduling feedings is not good -- is that
not enough? Or does she suddenly have to have MD after her name to have it
qualify. See -- they are picking and choosing who they want as a
spokesperson -- Bob Buchnam is good, but Bill Sears is not. Gary Ezzo who is
a complete no nothing about lactation, child development, pediatrics,
nursing, breastfeeding, psychology or sociology is OK -- but the AAP is
"liberal."
Sheesh on a cracker!
How many reports of infants who have suffered on this very program do they
need before they won't hand it out? One? Two? Fifteen? Thirtyfive?
Oh Tammy -- good luck!
Jan B -- in Wheaton IL which is far far away from CO.
