Gail, I see this researcher is right in your neck of the woods:
<"Even modest sleep restriction affects hormones," said Dr. Alexandros
Vgontzas, a professor of psychiatry at Pennsylvania State University in
Hershey.>
Do you suppose you could somehow propose a similar study on new parents,
or at least new mothers, 1/3 of whom were breastfeeding/cosleeping, 1/3
breastfeeding with baby in a separate bed so they had to get up, and 1/3
of them formula feeding?
Certainly would help those of us who live in localities where the public
health officials are putting strong public emphasis on absolutely no
co-sleeping. We have to be very, very careful what we say in the WIC
office.
