asthma and allergies are very complex subjects indeed. i would say there are
many studies that show a protective relationship w//bf and there are many
that show a possible causative relationship w/ bf and asthma. there are many
confounding factors indeed as has been discussed, such as lenght of time bf,
definition of bf, exclsive vs mixed bf, hx of allergies/asthma in family,
smokers, pets, etc etc. Do we have someone who specializes in
allergy/immunology on the list who could comment?
