Wise Ones,

Had a thought today. After speaking to 2 moms in the past 3 days who
have babies on zantac or reglan & zantac for reflux I got to thinking...
Does prescribing zantac/reglan for reflux due to hyperactive MER and
oversupply allow a baby to be overfed? If the baby is spitting up the
excess milk (i.e., too much, too fast for little tummy) without meds,
does this excess milk stay in the tummy, thereby allowing it to be
streched and baby overfed?

Both cases were clearly hyperactive MER and oversupply (one mom was
pumping 10 oz. after feeding baby!!!).

Any thoughts on this theory?
