Hi,
I have been asked to find out if those of you working in a hospital visit
every breastfeeding patient, only those with breastfeeding problems, or
those who have Dr. orders for a Lactation visit.
I am also wondering if anyone knows if JCAHO requires that all
breastfeeding patients
must or should be seen while in the hospital. Currently we had planned to
have a lactation consultant visit as a standing order for breastfeeding
patients. The head Neo Dr heard about this and .....well.....his yells
could be heard all over the floor (as you might guess he his not
pro-breastfeeding!)
Thanks for your help.
Judith, IBCLC
