The active ingredient in Syntocinon is more concentrated than in
Pitocin. I believe it is about 4X the concentration, which means a lot
more volume in the nose if one is substituting Pitocin for Syntocinon.
Pediatric Clinics of North America (my book is at my office, but the
volume is in 2001) suggests trying buccal application of Pitocin;
perhaps sublingual would work, also.
