Hi Lactnetters,
Could someone help me with information on an antibiotic called Avelox
(spelling second hand)?
The mother is being counseled to take this med for 10 days for a stubborn eye
infection which she has now had for 2 weeks. Treatment with another
antibiotic has already been done unsuccessfully.
She has been told she must wean her 18 month old, avid nurser while on this
med. Can't find the drug in Hale, Lawrence or on Hale's website. I am now
checking the archives, but did not want to waste anymore time before asking
you all. I do not know if I have the correct spelling, although this is the
exact spelling the person read to me over the phone.
She must make a decision this afternoon (Tuesday) - apparently the infection
is quite severe. The doc has told her the toddler could suffer neurological
repercussions from this drug. She says he "looked it up." Any ideas?
Thanks,
Lisa Udpike
