Have you tried using gentian violet? It seems to work in even the most
persistent cases. For three or four days the Mom should paint her nipples and
the baby's mouth with a q-tip. She will only need a little bit. It is very
messy and the gentian violet will stain and ruin everything it touches but it
is very effective. Make sure everyone is wearing old or black clothing.

The Mom should also be taking acidophilus and the baby should take some kind
of probiotic that is especially formulated for babies. The Mom can put it on
her nipples 3 times a day or she can mix with boiled water and drop it into
the babies mouth.
