 [You're welcome, Steve.  That article Steve recommends is a good, and
 includes some interesting diagrams, but there are some erroneous, and
 oddly confused, discussions of less impartant topics - such as the
 statement that it's a three-way race between DVD-A, SACD, and DTS;
 or that DVDs are played upside-down (only if the player does accepts
 this, and few do).  But otherwise it's worth reading, and includes good
 discussions of classical recordings.  -Dave]
