As I recall, one of the early studies that claimed babies were rejecting
the breast after exercise and blamed lactic acid in the milk was greatly
flawed. They were measuring how "well" babies tolerated the exercise by
seeing how much of the post-exercise expressed milk they would take from
a bottle. Some of the kiddos had had little or no exposure to bottles
before. As a result, the question was whether the "rejection" was to a
change in flavor or the unfamiliar container!
Even if some babies seem to not like the flavor, it is a transient
concern and not a reason to forego either the nursing or the exercise.
