One last one folks.
While never wanting to diminish the often superhuman efforts many women
make to continue breastfeeding in hostile work environments I cant help
but feel sad that with all our advances in employment policies and
employee rights the corporate machine has so many people so firmly
tucked under it's wing that they cant spare the 15 minutes to pump
without needing to answer the phone or keep working! Perhaps I am being
too unrealistic but there is something terribly wrong with our society
if so many women could benefit from such ingenuity. I read a brochure
for a pumping top that said "now, pumping time needn't be wasted time"
or words to that effect. The idea that maintaining your milk supply is
"wasted time" ..this belief truly bothers me. I know, I know.. back to
my perfect world I go.
By the way is there a risk that these devices could contribute to
blocked ducts around the funnel if the pressure on the breast cannot be
regulated? I would think it more likely given that unless the clothing
was tight fitting the funnels are at a great risk of falling off.
