All of this talk about gift bags reminded me of when my sister's first baby
was born in 1995. She was living in San Francisco and the hospital gave
breastfeeding mom's a more appropriate goodie bag, No diaper/cooler bag
with formula logo and samples. They gave a good quality hand pump, a tube
of purified lanolin, and a list of breastfeeding support groups in a plain
plastic bag.
My sister went on to be a Nursing Mother's Council breastfeeding counselor
and had the privilege of having her two exclusively breastfed little girls
weighed and measured last year in Davis, CA for the new breastfeeding
growth charts.
I wonder if that hospital still gives breastfeeding moms a breastpump and a
contact list?

in a chain maternity store and foolishly giving my zip code)
