This weekend, on our post partum unit, there was an
epidenmic of dome shaped breasts (no nipples in
sight), bruises and scabs, etc. Gosh, what a sight!
I described the "tea cup" hold recently described on
Lactnet, to several mothers with fussy crying babies,
assisted the mothers in attaching the baby (it worked
quite well!) Before I was able to get back to see the
mother for the next feeding, 3 of the 4 had already
successfully latched their babies, by them-selves! and
were nursing with minimal discomfort. I think the
clear title, "tea cup" helped the mothers easily
understand what and how to achieve the latch! Thank
you so much for this very helpful tool. Got some
more?!
