I received this from an LC who I don't think is on LN.

Hi everyone, I am an LC in Marshfield and just wanted to alert all LCs
about
the Newborn Channel. It has lots of ads on it and this AM I saw one that

parents can call an 800 number for a free can of Parent's Choice
formula.
Some breastfeeding parents (especially those with babies that eat
frequently, moms that have sore nipples or are too tired to nurse) are
writing these numbers down and calling to get a free can. It is given to

them at the MOST vulnerable time. My manager and I are calling the
makers of
the NEWBORN CHANNEL but I thought you would also like to call in or
write.
These tapes reach 50% of all births in the US. Feel free to forward.
Thanks,
Mary Ann

Her observation is very interesting. This change in thier policy was
discussed here a few months ago. At that time some of you who work at
Baby Friendly hospitals said their institution would be dropping the
channel.. I'm curious if there was any flack or feedback. Has anyone
heard if there's enough impact to make the operators of the channel
think about changing their position? (I'm not holding my breath.)

Winnie
