My daughter will be 4 on July 25th, and I cannot describe how upset she is when I am
not home in time to breastfeed her to sleep. Her dad is a wonderful person and they are
bonded brilliantly, but he just doesn't have the breast.
Some people (probably the court too) may say 'at this age, breastfeeding is not
important anymore', I know children who are weaned at this age so for them it isn't. But
children who need the breast it is a different case. Can't the dad get daytime visitation?
Maybe an extra day each 3 weeks? So the nr. of hours that he spends with her stays the
same? And when the child doesn't need nightfeeds etc., (s)he can start staying
overnight.
Daytime separation from mom is SO much easier for a child to handle. Anyway, it is for
mine...
