I would speculate the suddent, large 10% wt loss within a day or so of birth,
means an inflated birth wt. Perhaps, too much IV fluids, too much, too long
Pitocin/epidural and of course nurse error (gasp) on weighing the infant at
birth or otherwise. I would think most kids do lose wt but certainly not
that much so soon unless there are confounding factors!
