I use a clean sock, filled 1/2 way with un-cooked rice, microwave for 1 - 2
minutes and apply to sore breast(s). The rice holds the heat well, it's
cheap and readily available. I use frozen peas on early edema (first 3 days)
following a long exposure to pitocin in labor and switch to heat for milk
engorgement. Gee, can you tell I live in the states? Pitocin, epidurals,
vacuum extractors, forceps.. then a c-section. All that is almost
considered a NORMAL birth here!
