I have said to a few mothers who, like myself, had severe overactive
letdown, that they might want to try using a fast flow nipple with their
baby to try and keep the flow as similar as possible to what they get at
the breast (i.e. overwhelming). This is because of a few moms whose
babies seemed to start preferring the bottle when it was slow flow...I
figured "keep the bottle as 'unpleasant' as possible, which means keep
it as close to the overactive letdown as possible". This is only for
moms with obvious OALD though.

I have found a wide-based teat which is an "Avent mimick" teat, but
seems much softer (thinner silicone I imagine) which would likely be my
first preference, but then I don't generally have to recommend teats to
moms around here. They tend to choose ones themselves (usually the
regular narrow ones) and then come to us to fix the problem when there
is one.
