Hello Lactnetters,
I am going to the section meeting of my hospital's pediatricians next week.
One of their concerns is that some of my co-workers recommend delaying all
circs until 2 weeks, and the peds hate doing them then, b/c the babies are
so much more aware and responsive/painful. My current practice around this
issue is to stay out of it unless the baby is a poor/slow feeder, in which
case I recommend NOT doing it in the hospital, since the baby's long
post-procedure sleep (and/or painful state) will interfere with our chances
of establishing breast learning before discharge. Also I find that due to
changes in insurance reimbursement, we are not seeing a lot of these done in
hospital anymore.

What I am looking for is citations regarding the effect of early
circumcision on breastfeeding success. Any leads for me?
Thanks in advance from--
