Find an ear nose and throat specialist, they will do the clipping. Pedi's
and dentists do not want to do this! And YES it can make a HUGE difference
in how effectively a baby nurses. It also can affect how willing a baby is
to eat solids when he is old enough to do so. Funny - they will clip it then
without hesitation!

Michelle

Subject: Tongue-Tie
Aloha all,
I hope you do not mind this vent. This is the second time that I have a
mother with a baby, who is tongue-tied and not gaining weight. It is a very
obvious tongue tie. The doctors all agree, but say that is not the reason
the baby is not gaining and sent the mom home telling her to give formula.
I
have been making calls all morning up and down the coast to doctors and
dentists and no one will clip it. There is a doctor who lives 3 hours away
willing to clip--if the mom will travel that far.
I am so frustrated. I have never been in a situation like this before.
Thanks.
Aloha,
Gloria Thai
