I have no literature to offer, just plain common sense. If this mother's
disability is mental, that will mean that physicly she is OK. She was able to
conceive and to carry her pregnancy and will no doubt be able to deliver, for
that, too, is a basic physical skill of female humans. As is breastfeeding. I
would suggest some staffmembers to visit a LLL series meeting, to become
familiar with the normalness of breastfeeding. Perhaps even the mother to be
herself can come along. I'm sure the ''regular'' moms will welcome her and
her plans to breastfeed her baby.
