Winnie notes that moms who are given MgSO4 for elevated BP seem to have
babies who have an increased effect from the Mag.  I think that delayed
lactogenesis in moms who got Mag for elevated BP may be related to multiple
things besides the Mag.  These moms often have significant edema and fluid
retention, poor kidney function, were often induced with Pitocin, and are
maintained on Mag after delivery  until  BP is stable.  I've noticed that
when the edema decreases the milk supply often increases.  This would be a
fascinating question to research.
